Many medievians have started complaining about an increased frequency of dragon attacks all over the planet. As always I am asking the tough questions, and trying to find the answers for you. I started by asking Tanova, who has long been a friend to the dragons of Medievia, if she knew anything about the situation. She replied that it was news to her, and she was unaware of anything that would cause the dragons to suddenly turn against their riders, but that I should speak with King Solomon of Sadari. I headed over to Sadari and spoke with the ghost of King Solomon, who is also well known for having many interactions with the dragons. He said he was unaware of anything going on with the dragons, and hadn’t spoken with any of them recently. He suggested I speak with Mat’tok, the dragon trainer last seen below the city attempting to train a white dragon, but that I would first need to slay Liamz the ambassador of Elysium who had stolen the key to the castle's massive dungeon. He insisted that I go north and grab a healing staff he had left there, as Liamz would be unlikely to give up the key without a fight. With my new mission in hand, I enlisted the help of my trusted friend Yeshem to help slay Liamz. As we began the fight, Liamz threatened us to leave him alone or we would regret it, as he plagued Yeshem, myself, and eventually our entire formation. I had forgotten to strengthen before entering battle, and my frostyreaver promptly fell out of my hands. Thinking quickly I went to grab cloudy potions out of my bag, but as I tried I was blinded almost as if Liamz knew I needed them out of my bag. As my hitpoints continued getting lower, I thought well at least I have a healing staff in my inventory, or did I? As I went to hold healing, I realized Liamzs’ fireballs must have ignited it because it was no longer in my inventory. Fortunately, I had brought Yeshem with me and he had started healing me, so I started trying to bash Liamz down to avoid any further spells, only to realize I wasn’t wielding anything to bash with. As Liamz died he gave us a hint why the dragons might be attacking more often as he said, “Vryce has enraged the dragons and you’re all going to pay.” and “You mortals will regret your decision to betray me. I have already dispatched an envoy to the dragons and my death will be avenged.” With key in hand, we continued to the castle dungeon, but we did not find the dragon trainer. Instead, we found a big dragon awaiting our arrival, and we promptly decided we should flee the battle to avoid dying in cpk. After recovering our hitpoints and remembering to cast strength and protection from ice, we reentered battle and dispelled the mighty dragon's sanctuary. We then bashed it so it couldn’t cast on us, and it died pretty quickly, but as the dragon died it said “The wizard will avenge me”. Was this a clue, and if so how was it related to the dragons, and what wizard was he talking about? Yeshem said he knew of a wizard in Aeketh who may have some answers for us, and we headed that way. As it turned out not only did the wizard of Aeketh not want to speak with us, but he also tried to kill us as we entered his room. Having failed in our mission to discover why the dragons were disgruntled we both decided to take a break. When I came back from the bathroom and eating something, I looked at my equipment which was getting darker and darker because it had been many months since I had run much equipment. I phased Koin in the war room as I generally do when I realized Marious was also a powerful wizard and speaks with the dragons regularly. As I sat in the war room egging my equipment, Marious started telling a story about dragons using landmarks to traverse Medievia, and that Vryce had recently removed much of the old clan landscaping and landmarks they rely so heavily upon to get from one place to another. It then became clear why their attacks were increasing across the planet, and what needed to be done. The attacks would only decrease if additional clans and clan landscaping was added for them to use as a guide for flying. Asking the tough questions – Antons. All Rights Reserved.
