CLANITEM_BASE
Items with the FRAGILE NO_RENT or NO_RELOAD flags may not be used as base items for clanitems. Godgifts may not be used. All base items must 'naturally' load in the game (no old-stat equipment or holiday rains). Component equipment is fine if otherwise approvable. BONDED items will not work as clanitems because they cannot then be handed off to the recipient. Items that can be broken in the course of normal use, like earth crystals and mirrors of the ages, or items that function as keys, cannot be used. If you choose an item that's a component, it will no longer work as a component once it's a clanitem. Items with procs (custom text or unique effects) can *usually* be customized into clanitems, but *not always.* Items other clans already have as clanitems should be fine. Procs that can be customized are those that accompany a basic spell effect (like farsight, fireshield, or phantasmal images) with special (often colored) text that doesn't show when you cast the spell yourself. Making a clanitem just involves changing this text on a copy of the proc, and changing the descriptions on a copy of the item. Items where duplicating them would require *writing a whole new proc* can't be bases. IF YOU WANT A BASE ITEM THAT IS NOT LISTED BELOW BUT DOES HAVE A PROC YOU MUST EMAIL REALESTATE@MEDIEVIA.COM TO FIND OUT IF WE CAN DO IT SUBMITTING A DUBIOUS BASE ITEM WITHOUT CHECKING WITH US FIRST JUST WASTES YOUR TIME Approved base items include, but are not limited to: Gem of Souls, Dagger of Fire, Helm of the High Forest, Marious's subterranean helm, a portable hole, the Bloodstone, a ring of divine protection, Devastator, the adamantite kris, a charred dragon's tooth, a bag of holding, the Ivory Chalice of Wytherwind, an alchemy jug, a shimmering band of energy, a black steel torch, ablaze with bluish flames, a cord of black silk that ties around the waist, the dragonscale belt of Neumanaga, the diamond bracelet of resonance, the Staff of Chronomanipulation Base items that CANNOT be approved include, but are not limited to: an ancient horn of valor, crafted from Ki-rin bones: this item has a proc that is dependent on where you are when you use it, how long since you last used it, etc. It is too complex a proc to be duplicated and customized. Nemesis, the crossbow of Injustice: this item does not actually have a text proc; it is a weapon that is set up to create its own missiles, like the Easter egg sling from holidays. This is not the type of proc that clanitems can be based on. the Sivilfandi Shield of Life: this item has a unique proc that calculates the scope of its effect during each use. This proc is too complex to duplicate. the onyx tiara of souls: this item has five different procs that make checks against player actions in battle, wearing or removing eq, dying, even using a locker. It is too complex to customize and can by nature not be duplicated. a long blubber hook: this item is used with the "SHIP SNAG" command to obtain SERPENT meat. The proc it uses is part of the complex ship code, and cannot be duplicated or customized for one clanitem. Special note: The Dagger of Fire and an obsidian athame *definitely* fall into the category of items that have unique, complex procs outside of existing skills and spell effects. However, because several clans already have these items as bases, the duplicated procs already exist and can be customized. This is *not true* for items newer to the game. Items that impart spells and skills listed in "SCORE-A" as "FROM-EQUIPMENT" do *not* have procs. These can be clanitems, but you don't get to customize any text beyond that on the item itself.
