Description:
At the end of the Enara Canal lies a settlement hidden in the trees, known
only to the gypsies who work the canal barges and those who live there,
and have for generations. Admittance to the fen comes only with the
permission of the gypsies, and even then you must brave a maze very few
outsiders have ever beaten, avoiding carnivorous plants and strange swamp
animals. The gypsies live and work among the dark trees, using the
aromatic plants that grow in the fen to produce a strong liquor called
stevania, which they trade on the canal for the things they need. Enaran
gypsies come here to retire or raise their families, and a few may be so
lucky as to be buried here when they die, in the company of the immortal
spirits of Gismonda and Jaroslava, the two sisters who still bless Esacha
with their beauty and magic.
