From time to time catastrophes will wreak havoc at random trade posts. Then this happens, the demand for almost everything at this post will skyrocket and prices will soar. This is a good time to go trading!

There are various types of catastrophes that can break out around Medievia.

• Floods
• Fires
• Virus
• Asteroids

Each of these catastrophes will affect prices differently. Some will cause major price increases and others will only increase prices slightly. These random occurrences of destruction help to keep the market liquid and trading profitable.

Players are affected by the catastrophe and if you hang around too long you might find yourself a corpse. You will lose hit points slowly over time by burning, drowning, or poisoning, or you could find yourself outright squashed by a falling meteor.

The rarest, most profitable, and also most dangerous catastrophe. If you enter the affected area while asteroids are still raining down you will inevitably have one landing right on your head and die instantly but as always the first to sell gets the best prices so it might be worth the risk!

There is a special medal for being the first person to sell during a catastrophe.
