Before you leap into the immersive realm of shipping there are a few things that you need to know and arrange before you can begin.
Clanprivs & Clanrank
You will need clanprivs to create a ship and a clanrank to become ships captain. On a ship the person in control is the player with the highest rank. Be aware of who is on your ship and if they are AFK or not. The highest-ranked player can appoint anyone to be the captain.
If you were killed by a mob faction or serpent and returned to your ship you could well land in a situation where you cannot become captain because there is a higher ranked player on board. There are a number of things that you can do in this situation.
- Ask the higher rank player to appoint you as captain
- PK the higher rank player
- As a last resort pray and ask if they can be removed from the ship
In order to create and manage a ship you will need the "Make ship" clanpriv and to use the fae you collected and deposited to clan the "Take Fae" clanpriv

Ship train
Ship train is a free to use arena designed specifically to learn how to ship. This feature does not require clanrank or clanprivs to access.
To access Ship train link and type "ship train" to leave simply type "ship train" again and you will return to link.
There are 20 ships available with random crew levels depending on which randomly assigned ship you get. It's great practice to learn with different levels of crew.
You can find more information on the ship, crew levels and what will or won't happen in this arena by reading HELP SHIP TRAIN
NOTE: Serpent points, Hero points, Fae and Gold earned does not save. When you leave the ship is destroyed. Ship Train is purely for practice.
Etiquette
Some suggested shipping etiquette to make your experience more enjoyable.
- Pay for your shipping costs. Shipping can be a massive drain on the clan coffers. Be sure to cover the expenses.
- Do not use someone else's ship without permission, once again ships are expensive and leveling deckhands is a time consuming process.
- Ask before going to a ship, being outranked on your own ship can be disastrous.
- Listen to the captain, players can inadvertently interfere with deckhands performing their duties.
- Tip your captain. If you have joined the crew for a crab hunt consider gifting the captain some gold for their time. While a captain will earn gold from the adventures they will appreciate the show of thanks.
Player made resources
There are some player made resources out there which can potentially help you on your adventures. The main resources are designed towards advanced ship captains and mostly limited to older platforms.
