Dragons come in multiple colors and have different secondary damage procs. The color of the dragon can be separated into chromatic and metallic.
Chromatic:
- Red
- Green
- Blue
- Black
- White
- Ruby
Metallic:
- Copper
- Silver
- Brass
- Bronze
- Gold
- Ruby
Ruby dragons fall into both categories and can be used with both types of hide.
Alignment
As with all mobs in the game alignment can be both helpful and harmful to your damage dealt and damage received. Alignment varies so be sure to check before you engage and cast your protection spells.
Dragon Procs
When a dragon is in combat they will periodically proc damage. Dragon procs will deal huge amounts of damage to players. When fighting dragons take note of its procs and prepare yourself with the appropriate protection spells.
All dragons proc fire, protection from fire will help immensely. When attacking the dragon it is advisable to wear equipment with the Saving Breath effect. This will help reduce the effect of the dragon procs.
Poison
Poison procs will result in all players in the vicinity getting afflicted with poison.
The following color dragons proc Poison.
Equipment with the Save vs Poison effect will help counteract this proc.
Acid
Acid procs will cause high amounts of damage to all players in range.
The following color dragon proc Acid.
Lightning
Lightning procs will cause lightning damage to all players in range. The protection from lightning spell will help reduce the damage.
The following color dragons proc lightning.
Paralysis
Paralysis dragons are considered amongst the most difficult dragons to defeat. This proc will cause players to become paralyzed. While paralyzed you will be unable to cast, speak or see combat damage received.
The following color dragons proc paralysis.
Equipment with the Save vs Petrification effect will help counter this proc.
Fire
Fire dragons will proc fire damage. The protection from fire spell will help to counter its effects.
The following dragons have fire procs.
In addition to the fire proc ruby dragons will also proc a sonic type attack or wailing breath, your only protection against this will be saving breath equipment.
Ruby Dragons
Ruby dragons differ from all the other dragons in that they are more powerful, proc for higher damage and are UNDEAD. Do not cast harm on ruby dragons; you will heal it instead of damage!
Types of saves from equipment
This is a list of save effects that you will find on equipment. For the purposes of Dragon lairs poison, petrification, and breath are the stats that you will be looking for.
- Save vs Poison is made for poison attacks.
- Save vs Rod is made for spells and effects cast by a device (wand, staff, and most weapons with the ATTACK flag).
- Save vs Petrification is made for paralysis or petrifying attacks.
- Save vs Breath is made for all types of breath attacks.
- Save vs Spell is made to reduce or avoid the effects of a casted spell or a recited scroll.
