Before you engage in a mighty battle with this formidable foe you will need to take note of a few things and perform a few actions. Take note if the dragon has a fireshield! While you can of course attack the dragon when it has a fireshield it really is not recommended. Have your form cast the spells which will help you have the best chance of surviving your encounter.
- Wear your saving breath or poison equipment where necessary.
- Spell up! You are going to need all the help you can get.
- Hand out healing staves to your form and USE THEM when the dragon procs.
- Drop items which you may lose if you die, e.g. green or blue orbs.
- And finally when everyone is ready, share the dragon hide. This is arguably the most important part of the dragon lair.
Dragonhide.
Regular dragons by default have a total of 36 hides. Once the dragon hide is shared with another form this amount is doubled to 72. This is divided evenly between all players who are on the dragonlair share. If you have two forms of nine players (18 players) each player will receive 4 dragonhides. If you have one form each player will still receive 4 dragonhides. Ruby dragons will provide a 1 hide perplayer up to a total of 18. The amount of hide you can get will also be affected by the dragonhide hourglass.
Sharing
In order for all participants to receive their hide when the dragon is defeated the lair leader will need to share the hide with all the participants. In order to share the hide the leading form must first attack the dragon. This can either be done by actually attacking the dragon or by way of the command DRAGONLAIR ATTACK. Most leaders will simply avoid attacking the dragon as some players may die instantly from a breath proc or melee hit and thus be excluded from the attacking form.
To share the hide with your accompanying form type DRAGONLAIR <Player name> The player name can be any member of the second form but is traditionally the form leader.
In order to share there are some strict criteria that must be met
- You must be the leader of the form that attacked the dragon and already have the hide assigned.
- You must be IN the DragonLair.
- The Dragon must be in the Dragonlair.
- You must not have shared the hide already.
You can check the status of the hide share by checking DRAGONHIDE
NOTE: The moment a lair dragon is attacked the timer begins. You have 1 hour to vanquish your foe before it flies off to find a new lair.
Fleeing the dragon
Once your forms are ready, your hides have been shared and you have dropped any no rent consumables you can now proceed to attack the dragon and attempt to get it to flee. For the most part this will be much like any other fight with a few nuances. The dragon will do everything in its power to retain control of its hoard. It will proc fire, it will proc its secondary attack, and it will fling players out of the room. When the dragon flaps its wings, leaders will be unformed and players might get flung into the next room. This means AFK players are bad you need all the firepower and healing you can get and players need to return to the fray as soon as possible.
Once the dragon has taken a significant amount of damage, it will start heading to the surface through its personal access tunnel that leads directly up to the room you landed in using your map.
At this point the lair leader should loot the dragon hoard (get all) you will get a few million coins, the older the dragon the richer its hoard will be! But at the same time the harder it will be to defeat.
When the dragon is on the way out of the dragonlair what we call a push form will proceed to push the dragon towards the exit. Combat will usually only last a single round before it flees into the next room and ultimately the wilderness.
TIP: Dragon procs tend to extend a number of rooms, the second form should move out of range to avoid dying to dragon breath. Ruby dragons proc up to 3 rooms keep this in mind when preeparing your follow up assault. All other dragon procs will only affect the room the dragon is currently in.
Once the dragon is in the wilderness the game will now be notified that a dragon lair has been attacked. The dragon Mobek has fled his Dragon Lair!
Continue as before to attack the dragon. Players will probably find themselves being flung out of the room more often in the wilderness than they did in the lair. Once the dragon has sustained more wounds than it cares to handle it will flee the battle and seek out a clan town to enact its revenge! The game will once again be notified of where the dragon intends to take its revenge.
The dragon Mobek is attacking The Knights Templar Clan Town!
Fighting the dragon in a clantown
When the dragon attacks the clantown it will settle in the first room inside the clantown. Be sure to instruct your form not to walk in. It might not be a bad idea to gather your forms a couple of rooms away from the entrance and have players phase you directly to avoid unwanted accidents.
In the clantown after the initial attack the dragon will randomly fly off and attack another room you will now need to resurrect your fallen comrades, regather your form, and locate the dragon again. The dragon will now only be found in outdoor rooms of the clan town. Repeat this process until the dragon has been slain.
The game will be notified of your achievement!
**The Dragon Mobek has been slain!**
Do not forget to loot your hard earned hides! "Get hide corpse"
If you were unsuccessful in defeating the dragon once again the game will be notified
Mobek is seen flying off into the distance to fight another day...
This dragon will now be much harder to defeat.
Dragon points
Dragon points are awarded for damage dealt to the dragon. If formed the dragon points are shared within the form. It is also rumored that casters receive a bonus for damage dealt to balance the damage dealt by melee.
