The Metamorph is an illusive being that dwells in depths of the catacombs. He wonders randomly around and can be found on any level. This is a high level mob and should not be attempted without at least the help of a healer.
The key characteristic of the Metamorph lies in its name, this creature is able to morph itself between all the classes available to players. What this means is you can be fighting a thief, a warrior, a cleric or a mage. It will randomly switch between classes.
The Metamorph carries "a smallish brass coin" a highly sought after item for heroes who which to change their current class.
Battling the Metamorph.
Here are some tips to help you in defeating the Metamorph.
- Wherever possible try and lure the Metamorph to an ore room (Purple high regen room) this will help your healer(s) keep you alive without having to tick mana.
- Trap the Metamorph in the ore room and shield the rooms around.
- Kill mobs in the vicinity so they do not wander in and ruin things if your shield rooms fall and traps fail.
- 1 player preferably a Melee class should tank and all other casters should remain unengaged.
- Make sure you have a ring on Winter's wrath or Winter's vengeance. Ice shield will prevent you from being dispelled when the Metamorph is cleric.
- DO NOT disarm the Metamorph, doing this will INCREASE melee damage!
- It is a good idea to poison the Metamorph, if you need to flee Poison will prevent it from regenerating mana.
Using a Metamorphs coin
In order to use "a smallish brass coin" you will need to find the "Elven merchant". This shop mobile wonders the trade cities of Medievia and sells 4 varieties of coin used to reclass.
He sells se following items
- [variable] a pair of amulets of telepathy
- 25,000,000 a gleaming silver coin
- 25,000,000 a bright gold coin
- 25,000,000 a shiny mithril coin
- 25,000,000 a priceless adamantite coin
Each one of these coins requires 1x a smallish brass coin. A silver coin requires only a smallish coin to purchase, a gold coin requires a silver coin and a smallish brass coin etc.
This is colloquially known as 1 coining, 2 coining, 3 coining and 4 coining.
Each coin provides additional levels when a hero reclasses.
Silver will reclass to level 1
Gold will reclass to level 20
Mithril will reclass to lvl 27
Adamantite will reclass to lvl 30
Once you have your desired coin head to the high point of mount Vryce and insert coin. This process now proceeds in the same manner as multiclassing.
