By examining a blueprint, a skilled smith can determine:

• Whether their current skill is sufficient.
• Which required components they already possess.
• Which components are still missing.
• The total cost of the attempt.

Higher-quality blueprints can produce better results, but success still depends on the smith's skill and the materials used. Even with perfect components and sufficient skill, forging is never guaranteed.
