Object: To win money! Medcraps is an online version of the popular casino
game, craps. A different version of what this helpfile explains can be
found at: http://www.conjelco.com/faq/craps.html.

The first thing to understand about craps is that the first roll is called
the "come out roll." Pass bets (odds 1:1) win when the come out roll is 7
or 11, while pass bets lose when the come out roll is 2, 3, or 12. Don't
pass bets (odds 1:1) lose when the come out roll is 7 or 11, and don't
pass bets win when the come out roll is 2, 3 or 12. Other valid come out
bets include 11 (odds 15:1), any7 (odds 4:1) and anycraps (odds 7:1). If
4, 5, 6, 8, 9 or 10 is rolled on the come out roll, the point is set.
Eleven and any7 are both "one-time" bets, which are cleared after a
betting round. Pass and dontpass will stay on the table until one of the
following values is rolled: 7, 11, 2, 3 or 12.

Once the point is set, you cannot change your pass bet. If the point is,
for example, 4 and someone rolls a 4, everyone with a pass bet wins and
the point is off (you go back to a come out roll.) You cannot bet on the
point, but you can bet on the other point values. Betting on 4 and 10 have
odds of 2:1. Betting on 5 and 9 have odds of 1.4:1. Betting on 6 and 8
have odds of .8:1. Only "one-time" bets are removed from the table while
the point is set. "One-time" bets include 2, 11, 12, any7, anycraps and
horn.

If the point is set you can also bet on the "hard" values. Hard values are
4, 6, 8 and 10 where you roll two identical dice. Betting on hard4 and
hard10 have odds of 7:1. Betting on hard6 and hard8 have odds of 9:1. You
can also bet on 2 or 12 with odds of 30:1. Hard bets (hard4, hard6, hard8,
hard10) will only be removed after the point is made.

A horn bet is a bet on four values: 2, 3, 11, 12. Horn bets can be made
once the point is set. A horn bet pays differently based on which value
comes up: 3 and 11 pay bet/4 * 15. Two and 12 pay bet/4 * 30.
While the point is set, the only values you cannot bet on are the point
itself and the pass line.

Craps is when the point is set and someone rolls a 2, 3 or 12. When this
happens, all bets are lost save a dontpass, anycraps or a specific bet on
that number (2 or 12.) When craps is rolled after the point is made, the
point is OFF.

The only way for a shooter (person with the dice) to lose their turn is to
roll a 7 while the point is set. When this happens, all bets lose except
for an any7 or anycraps bet. The dice will go to the next person at the
table.
